Winter at the Danube in Vienna

Finally winter has come to Vienna, 

with extremely cold temperatures and even some snow.

I took a long walk with my dog along the shore of the Danube this afternoon and enjoyed the winter atmosphere.

Water birds had left their foot prints in the snow,

and D'ora followed the decorative patterns on the ice.

What a lovely picture!

We returned home when the sun set.

A wonderful end of summer and flowers on my window

We had a wonderful second half of August here in Vienna this year,
warm, hot, sunny, temperatures inviting you to swim in the Old and the New Danube.

Today the sky was as blue as the morning glories in the Pawlatsche, the arcade, leading to the doors of our apartments on our floor.

On my window, the flowers celebrate the end of summer.

I spent the whole day at the the New Danube today, swimming, dozing in the sun, walking along the beach, my doggy trying to catch fish in the shallow water. Now she is satisfied and sleepy! So am I!

Today's flowers - Pink Cherry Trees

Finally, the cherry trees at the Donauinsel are blooming!
I visited the Cherry grove this morning again.

My dog D'Ora not only enjoyed to explore old tree trunks,

but also helped me find flowers for you!

The scenery is dominated by the animals:
Seagulls from Northern regions and a doggy having fierce snowball fights :)

A Dog's Life

When I leave my bed on Saturday mornings and cook some coffee in the kitchen, my doggy quickly jumps up into my warm bed and dozes under the blanket.


After returning from a stroll in the park, the big pillow on our sofa is D'Ora's favourite place for her afternoon naps :)

Camera Critters - Summer fun with dogs

The old arm of the river Danube at Greifenstein near Vienna is a paradise for swimmers - and for dogs as well:)
I sat at the beach and watched a little dog trying to jump on his owner's airbed.
A second dog appeared -it ended up in a mess!
