SWF - A proper sunset!

The fine summer weather allowed for swimming in the New Danube this evening,
and we were rewarded with a "proper" sunset:

A big red sun at the horizon...

a lonely bird in the purple haze...

deepening colours,
and an
artistic shot of the setting sun!

What a wonderful summer evening!

Well, we are not the only skywatchers on this planet:

Flowers from the flower shop and roses from the rose garden

I can't get enough of their beautiful colours!

SWF - Stormy atmosphere

Today Vienna was the hottest spot in Europe:
38°C / 100° F !

I escaped from the hot city and spent the evening at the New Danube.

After a long refreshing swim clouds appeared in the west.

The sky turned orange,

and the clouds slowly approached.

The air was damp, and the mosquitoes so terrible.

I reached home before the first raindrops fell,
but then it began to pour down like mad!

Stormy weather!

The thunderstorm cleared the air, and the hot city is so pleasant again!

A lazy Sunday afternoon at last

Some days ago I crossed the Danube at Reichsbrücke, when the ship with the red roses (A'Rosa Riva) I had seen recently passed by.
I had enough time to take pictures from above.

Maybe some day I will travel along the Danube on a ship heading for the Black Sea?

And today:
Clouds in the sky like Wiener Schnitzeln...

but we had lunch at Flanagan's Irish pub at Schwarzenberg Straße.

We enjoyed the sun and the wind under the large green parasols on the square in front of the pub.

The food was excellent,
chicken salad and fish and chips and roast beef "with all the goodies"!

Tim drank his first Guinness beer in order to prepare for his trip to Ireland next month.

The dog under the table liked the roast beef, too :>

On our way home we passed by strange dogs in shop windows,

but our D'Ora was more impressed by what her canine friends had left on the street...

We went home through the sun-drenched streets of Vienna,

not without buying some sweets at Café-Konditorei Aida on our way home.
(Erdbeertörtchen, Kardinalschnitten, Cremeschnitten... )

Have a nice week ahead!
My vacation is over now, I'm back at work tomorrow morning :[

Another summer morning

As I have two weeks off, I take long walks with my doggy in the early moning,
walking towards a wonderful sunrise,

eastward along the Donaukanal,

heading for the Prater,

and its large green meadows

and old arms of the Danube (Heustadelwasser)

I also visit the swan family at the pond

and ... feel free as a butterfly :)
