A nice sunset after the rain

This week I took an evening walk through the city.
I started at Hofburg, the light looked promising.

Sepia tones in der Burg!

A mauve sky over Heldenplatz and Rathaus.

The rain had left little lakes on the lawn.

Victorious Archduke Charles and the Neue Burg make nice reflections in the puddles.

My doggy poses in front of the Leopold Wing of Hofburg :)

The colours of the sky deepen.

The ducks are swimming in their sky-coloured pool!

Empress Sissi's monument looks unreal in the twilight.

But in the nearby Rosegarden,
the evening light caresses Sissi's roses after the rain.

Sky Watch Friday - Thunderstorms

Last Sunday we went to the beach but a big hunderstorm foiled our plans.
The cloud formations after the rain were exciting, though!

We got wet to the skin, just like our poor doggy!

The weather in Austria is kind of subtropical this summer!

Some roses - after the rain

I have two weeks off now and I spend my vacation in Vienna.
Every day I stroll through the city (like a tourist :) for some hours.
These roses are from Vienna's "Rosegarden" in Volksgarten.
After the rain.

Even the duckies look wet!

MWT - Vienna's Prater

Some views from Vienna's historic amusement park, the Prater.

I love the early evening hours in the Prater very much,
when the first lights begin to shine
against a soft blue sky.

On the merry-go -round and the roller coaster you are really close to the sky!
Did you enlarge the second picture?

Camera Critters - A walk with my Dog

Some days ago we walked through the Lobau, a vast riparian zone along the river Danube in Vienna.

There were many riding stables with friendly horses looking curiously over their fences, welcoming us.

Our dog was afraid of the big horses, he is more interested in the waterfowl!

A big part of Lobau is really wild, but there are small settlements here and there,
like this lane of houses with a wonderful view over the water.

Of course a swan appeared to make my romantic picture perfect :)

A Fotoworkshop

Renaissanceschloss Greillenstein, 70 miles northwest of Vienna,
is a wonderful place for a photo workshop!

We were welcomed by the freaky sphinx's child:
"Tell me, mom, who's that, what are they doing here?"

A photo class from Vienna,
in search of the perfect motive and the right lense :))

Practice, practice, practice, the whole afternoon!

Perfect angles, apertures, exposure times,
focal points, composition and special effects and... the right light!

In the late afternoon we left for another shooting place.

GPS and Günter Grüner, our trainer, helped us find our way in a countryside with many small winding roads and rolling hills.

Finally we found the right place, and look, what a golden sunset!

So long, lovely Waldviertel!

Best thanks to Günter Grüner, our great coach!
