Beautiful Marie!Love that shot at the 'bar' best I think. Lighting is magnificent!
This place is heaven on earth for me. I love chocolate. I must visit this place! I must! I must! I must!
Everything is so elegantly arranged - it's so beautiful! And the window display is made of sugar? W O W!!!
Tricia,
Demel's window decoration is made of sugar and marzipan or similar weet things and it changes every one or two months. The window decoration is a tradition, and sometimes it depicts the season, sometimes celebrities like the Queen, Obabama quite in chocolate (no, I'm kidding), such things...
Trust me, I won't ignore it. Once I'm in that sweet shop you may have trouble pushing me back out. ;-)
I truly don't see how anyone could ignore that!
Most excellent! A wonderful and sweet post! :)
Cheers, Klaus
Oh, Marie, I have to agree with Antigoni, this place does look like heaven on earth to me too! Your photos are just gorgeous and I love them all! What a fun place to visit in Vienna! Thanks for sharing! Have a great week!
Oh my, looks like the perfect place to satisfy a sweet tooth! (Is there a gym nearby?)
The window display is amazing! You mentioned they change it every month or so, what do they do with the old display?
I'm just back from Your world. Well almost. But from Austria anyway.
This is such a heavenly post. Overwhelmed with the literally the sweetest of images. Wondeful place.
It's all so beautiful and tempting. I think I just gained five pounds from looking at your wonderful photos.
Hmmm...my sweet tooth aches, hehehe...I love that sugary display, doesn't it melt in the long run?
when I saw your comment on another blog, I wondered over, because... many years ago we took 2 vacations in Austia, and on one of them we went to Vienna. I love this city! but not the prices :)
I am Dutch, but live now in Los Angeles. Glad I found you!
Oh so lovely Marie! You gave me a good laugh (the great lady of sugar in the window), the need for one or two or three of those wonderful looking cakes, - and all arranged so beautiful! Both in the shops and on your blog!
......wandering off to plunder my refrigerator for sweets.....
I do hope you indulged yourself while you were there, how could you not with all those decicious temptations and smells right under your nose!
A most alluring and beautiful post Maria!
These decorative confections look almost too beautiful to eat, but I wouldn't let that stop me from gorging. I love the sugar lady in the window. Such artistry. Can I volunteer to eat some of her when the display changes?
Thanks so much for sharing this part of your world.
Now I'm going to go bake some cookies.
Can't believe the sugar window display!
All the pictures of sweets made me hungry. You took great photos.
Marvelous shots, I'd love to take a walk on that beautiful street.
Have a great week!

Austria and sweets go so well together. That is really something for my wife, she just loves sweets!!
Oh me, oh me, oh me!
I gave up sweets for Lent along with chocolate and wine and then along comes this blog of sweets that is the ultimate in sweet delights! Lord give me strength to resist reaching into the computer screen and grabbing one to nibble! But they truly are too pretty to eat. I guess I'll just look.
OMG!!!! yumyumyumyumyumyumyum etc. MB
Schöne Stadt!!
Oh my what a beautiful display! Who could resist it..And I'm on my new year's diet!
sensationell! macht richtig gusto am morgen - aber mir sind die sachen vom demel ohnedies zu süß (sagt der fuchs, dem die trauben zu hoch hängen).
Maria, when I read "Patisserie" nothing stopped me to enter this fairy land of the sophisticated sweet tooth. Great photos of the good life! Actually all I wanted to say was YUMMY.
Wow!
they look very lovely.
Especially the round box of sweets
looks very lovely.
I like just seeing something lovely even if I can't buy them.
shopping if fun:)
Thank you for taking us to this patisserie! It looks very lovely and tempting!
Oh My! I think I gained 10 pounds just from looking at all those delightful sweets!
Heute gibt es eine Auszeichnung für MARIA! :))
WOW that's some calorie busting store, and that cake you said 'yummy' for, looks delicious!
Oh gosh! Now I need a cuppa tea and some chocolate!
Thank you Maria - I had no idea what it was & I've never seen them before - That page says it's native to South America, so it must be expensive there - if your puppy liked what he was sniffing, he has expensive taste! hehehe
Thanks again for checking it out for me - you're so sweet!
Oh my goodness what an amazing shop. Not the place to visit when you are on a diet.
Beautiful and informative; thanks for sharing.
A fantastic series of photos Maria, and a wonderful tour. Thank you!
Ich glaube es ja nicht - hast du gesehen, wo wir am Montag waren?
Could I have a zaher torte, please? Ow sorry, I thought I WAS THERE...!
An "I ♥ This Blog" award is waiting for you on my page. Go get it and enjoy!
truth you have spoken :)!
OMG, I think I just developed diabetes just from looking at these pictures. The window display is unbelievable.
I love the pastries in Vienna as they are less sweet than those found in North America. The window display is really something to look at.
