Sky Watch Friday - Morning sun

Hi friends, this is a look at Vienna's St. Stephen's Cathedral,
looking up on a wonderful winter morning,
with yellow morning light,
and with a passenger recommending me to turn around and look back
and take a picture from the other side of the dome
with a still more beautiful view,
and then meeting some dome priests
looking at me taking the pictures of the dome
smiling at me...
A beautiful morning!

It pays to look up into the sky from time to time,
HERE all aroung the globe!

What a wonderful cathedral: gargoyles are a favourite of mine, and I love the way the light is shining on the trim.

Beautiful! Happy SWF!

I was there back in 1995, and have a friend who is a hydrologist in Vienna. It's a beautiful city and I hope to return some day.

Wonderful Maria, the more you introduce us to Vienna in these marvellous photographs, the more I want to see it for myself one day. You are a great ambassador for Austria :)

Lovely photos, and the best are those with the gargoyles. Very detailed work in the masonry.

Strange statues to decorate a church!
But I agree with Denise: we're all going to visit Vienna soon...!

Maria, these are wonderful photos. The difference between the first and second photos as the light grows and the wonderful details of the gargoyles as well as the other stone carving and roof tiles. Topped off by smiling priests! Wow!
