SWF - Stormy atmosphere

Today Vienna was the hottest spot in Europe:
38°C / 100° F !

I escaped from the hot city and spent the evening at the New Danube.

After a long refreshing swim clouds appeared in the west.

The sky turned orange,

and the clouds slowly approached.

The air was damp, and the mosquitoes so terrible.

I reached home before the first raindrops fell,
but then it began to pour down like mad!

Stormy weather!

The thunderstorm cleared the air, and the hot city is so pleasant again!

What a very nice post. At least you get the rain you needed to clean the air and cool the atmosphere. Happy weekend.

Great shots to document the crazy weather you've been having...100 degrees! Yikes! That's what our summer weather is often like...sending you cooler weather!

Nice story of how the rain came and the sky changed. Rain--it is a great thing.

A beautifully presented meteorological post of an evening in Vienna. So nice the way you made the best of the conditions and I hope you are not still scratchig though.

Your desription sounded like a Tennessee summer rainstorm. Hot, humid and lots of rain. The series of photos were very good. Peace

Hi Maria,
You sure have some sky action there and rain too. We have been getting hot weather on and off too. Makes me want to melt.

Hi Maria!
oh... 100 ... now that's HOT!
I hope the humidity disappeared after the storm!

I was just swatting the mosquitoes around my house... just trying to clean a few things around the patio... ouch...
I discovered that muscle cream (here I use Icy Hot) works GREAT on mosquito bites... I think it's the menthol and camphor in it...
instant relief!
Keep the good times rolling ~Maria

You got in a nice cool swim before the rain cooled the air. Good timing!

Da waren wir mit 37° auch nicht schlecht bedient, oder?

Oh dear, so glad you got the refreshment! We've had it up and over 38C yesterday as well, but the rain and storm failed to stop by in Zagreb, just 10 degrees less, but we are slowly warming up back to that horrible hair dryer wind and scorching sun. Wishing you a lot more rainy night and beautiful, clear, warm and enjoyable summer days. Cheers!
