Sky Watch Friday - Viennese Skies

Finally, after spying the skies in Paris, on top of Olympus and even in Norway,

***
I proudly present you a view of the sky in Vienna!

To the West!
If you follow the boulevard you will arrive directly at the city centre.

Eastward!
On the horizon flows the river Danube.

South!

Southwest!
We are on the roof of Austria's Federal Economic Chamber!

Here a closer view of Kahlenberg with the domes of the two museums, the towerof the Rathaus (city hall) between them, and Votivkirche (two towers right)
(I dont' know what building this abysmally ugly chump with the crane is!)

Russian orthodox church with its golden domes.

And this is the house where I would love to live: in the etage under the roof with its giant bay window and also in the etage below with the great balcony!
Keep your fingers crossed for me!

See more skies around the whole globe
but nowhere as thickly clouded as here in Vienna!

Maria you have me humming "Wien, Wien, nur Du allein...."
I'm so glad your camera goes where you go. That was quite a nostalgia trip, thank you.

Lucky you! You managed to keep your city like it used to be in the past, over against us who distroyed the beautiful old houses and buildings in Athens in order to build "modern" blocks of flats!

Isn't it funny? I imagine people in the Northern hemisphere dream of Fiji and Tahiti yet we down in the South Pacific love the history and quaintness of Europe. Many of our youngsters travel north for their 'gap' year between school and uni just to taste the history. Lovely place . .truly beautiful.
