Brenda's Photo Challenge - THINGS WITH WINGS

Would you really want to live in this house?

A bat whith wide spread wings
(can you see it?)
is the emblem of Vienna's famous "Fledermaus".
The "Fledermaus" is a night bar with about 200 seats and a piano on the stage, where young cabaret artists and chansonniers start their careers.
The place, well known and appreciated among intellectuals, offers the best Single-Malt in town.

My last winged creature:
Nike, the goddess of strength, speed, and victory in ancient Greek mythology.
You can see her also in Louvre, but without a head.

In Vienna she is protected by a brave lion so that she can keep her head on!

So long!

Very pretty photos, but I really love the commentary. The lion guarding Nike is humorous!

Great photos for the challenge. I believe that gargoyle actually protect your house from evil spirits, so that first ugly fellow may be creepy but he's a good thing to have.

My God you live in a beautiful city . . I love the gargoyley thingamebob. Angels and demons are represented everywhere. I was overwhelmed when I was there with the sculpture and history of the place. I love the juxtaposition of the Hapsburg legacy and Russian monuments (and you can take your doggywogg into coffee shops!) Tres cool . . and your chockies and cakes are superb) Oh and there's the music. The city is full of it.

I would like to live in a house protected by a gargoyle.

Wings remind me of soaring birds and angels.

Lovely photos of Vienna which brought memories of my long ago visit.
