Vienna Skywalkers - Bisamberg

*
It is 6 pm and my skywalking friend Brigitte and me leave the city of Vienna by public transport.

Fascinating cityscape slowly makes room for quiet countryside.

We leave the train after a 15 minutes ride in Langenzersdorf.

We took our cameras with us, just in case :)

This hill is Bisamberg, our destination.

We cross the main street,

walk past the backyards,

and find a sign leading us the way to the top.
"Elisabethhöhe"
a place with a beautiful view and a memorial of Empress Elisabeth (Sissi).

Our path is very steep, it would be a proper route for daily training!

The sun sets early, already at 7 pm,

and we take the last photos of the darkening landscape.

It's really romantic, with the soft autumn colours and the autumn smells and the growing darkness!

When we walk down the hill, we plan to come back and enjoy the wonderful view over the Danube, the Vienna Woods and the Weinviertel at daylight.
The hill is larger than it appears and so we will start our next walk in the early afternoon.

Needless to say, that after a two and a half hour's walk, we were rewarded with a glass of beer before taking the train home to Vienna.

Thanks for joining!

It's so awesome that you and friends walk together to get your Sky Watch Pictures! Great idea. You can feel dusk in these shots, as the sun descends.

The walking would kill me, but the beer part of the journey would be just fine. :-)

Hope the rest of your week is one of beauty.

Seriously! A glass of beer ? After running!
I know it's Oktoberfest in your neighboring country! but it's not an excuse.
Nightfall is very early in Austria. Fortunately, you got enough time to take wonderful pictures.

A lovely walk and thanks for sharing these walks. I still wish I have a friend like Brigitte. I wish we had a train here.

It's wonderful that you are so close to the countryside! You have to drive forever to get out of Paris!
