My World Tuesday - Copa Kagrana flooded

A sunken world:
Vienna's Beach Club area "Copa Kagrana" after 72 hours of rain!

"Copa Kagrana" is Vienna's humoristic allusion to Rio de Janeiro's Copa Cabana.
Kagran is the part of the 22nd District of Vienna next to that beach.

A pontoon bridge over the swollen New Danube
is completely under water.

Looking back from Reichsbrücke.

Danube cruisers are waiting to take up their journey for the Black Sea after the flood.

Donauinsel and the New Danube are part of Vienna's reliable flood protection system.
Copa Kagrana gets wet, while the city of Vienna stays dry!

More info about Vienna's Donauinsel here at Wikipedia.
Luckily, the Donauinselfest was not cancelled!

I hope the rains stop so the water level goes down. This is disturbing. Thanks for sharing the photos, Maria.

You have had a deluge! We are stil grateful for every drop we get and luckily we are harvesting some thunderstorms although it is the middle of winter.

That is amazing to see the water at such a high level. More like Venice than Vienna today.

I like the play on Copa Cabana.
Hope the rains let up so the water can recede and life in that area return to normal.

Auf deinen Fotos schaut die Überschwemmung richtig romantisch aus. Ich bin heute noch bei der Floridsdorfer Brücke in ein Gatsch-Loch gestiegen. War nicht romantisch. ;-)
