My world Tuesday - Just like a Tourist

I love to walk through my home town Vienna like a tourist!
Come with me, it's not far, only an hour's walk, taking some pictures included :)

Start at St. Stephen's Cathedral!

Kohlmarkt and Michaelertor

Enter the Hofburg at Michaelerplatz

Michaelerkirche

The entrance to the Imperial Palace

In der Burg and the monument of Emperor Franz I

Heldenplatz

Neue Burg

Archduke Charles of Austria who defeated Napoleon,
behind him the domes of the two Museums,
the Museum of Art History and the Museum of Natural History.

Here is the Volksgarten with Empress Sissi's monument,

and her famous rosegarden!

Many visitors come here
to enjoy the roses and spend a leasurly afternoon in the sunny park.

In the background you see the Burgtheater,

the Parliament,

and the towers of the City Hall.

We leave the rosegarden and return to Hofburg again.

Thank's for joining me on my stroll today!
Now click on the image below and travel around the globe!

Maria, what a wealth of wonders your city offers in its very heart. I think my nose and I would thoroughly enjoy the rose garden and my romantic heart would be quite at home in the palace.

That was one long and beautiful stroll you took!
We spent a day in Vienna last year and clearly I missed seeing all the places you photographed. I need to go back.

«Louis» very much enjoyed the tour you gave of Vienna! He was also quite happy to see you had visited. He hasn't been out much lately himself - he's been very busy with his new Espresso Shop.

My dear Maria,
I have had the wonderful pleasure of visiting your beautiful city and country twice and I was supposed to be there this may and june. Unfortunately, I fractured my left ankle 2 weeks before my departure for Vienna so right now, i am lying in bed but thanks to your excellent photo-taking, I can tour Vienna and imagine myself drinking eis kaffe at Demel's, smelling the roses at Volksgarten, and just enjoying the lovely weather there. I am from Singapore and it is so humid and hot now.I love my country very much but I am thankful for the world that God has given me and the chance to visit and enjoy life .Keep up the good job of your blog and thank you for sharing your life and sights with us. God bless you and your family including your doggie!

Vienna has exquisite architecture from the ages with the wonderful work of stonemasons from centuries gone by.
