My World Tuesday - Vienna's Naschmarkt

Vienna is a crazy city.

See and judge yourself.
Step down from Maria Hilferstraße to Naschmarkt.
See the flea market and the Jugendstil villas.
See city traffic at Gumpendorfer Straße and Naschmarkt's market stools.
See Che Guevara's flag next to the Austrian state flag.
And besides:
Find all the exotic treasures of the Orient close beside Spanish strawberries and Italian olives - and apples from Austria!

And a voracious little dog...

My bad dog!

The Naschmarkt has existed since the 16th century when mainly milkbottles were sold....

Read more about the Naschmarkt HERE (german) and HERE (english)!

Now I'm starving! Where on earth do the Strawberries come from when you're still in the wrap of winter? Maybe Australia hehe!

Yes, but don't forget the glass houses everywhere!

Jetzt muss ich mal was "naschen."

I love the colours in that photo of the strawberries and all!!!

What a great virtual stroll through Vienna. And the dog that keeps popping up in front of the stalls is obviously looking for a tasty snack - is s/he yours?

WoW! That's amazing photos! I have to ask, what's in the bins that your doggy is sniffing? It kinda looks like potatoes, but then again, it doesn't!

Maria, what a wonderful post! Your Vienna as always is so beautiful, with so much variety, but what imresses me most is that it is ileal for walking and that there are s few heavly overweight people there. Here if you go into town to the main pedestriam mall, most peopleare rolling tons of lard from overeating fast foods and watching TV.
Yhe Viennese can afford to indulge themselves at the Naschmarkt and coffee houses since they can walk it off. Here everyone drives everywhere.
Dora is such a discerning lady!

The market looks like fun, with the fresh flowers and fresh bread and delicious veggies and fruits. Poor D'ora! You should feed her extra before she goes to market!
(Although if she's like Daisy, she's always hungry.)

Oh, I sure did enjoy this romp thru Vienna. I can almost feel the cold air and smell the coffee brewing in Vienna's coffeehouses.

Hi maria!
Ah, I wanna walk around this market and eat something good.
I don't have the market like this in my town.
So when I go to Vienna, I wanna go there:)

I think I love Vienna. Do you have a room available? MB

Thank you so much for the walk in your city! There were som houses I almost could recognize from my own hometown (not Oslo), the houses in Jugend! The town is called Ålesund, and almost the whole city is Jugend. A beautiful city - and so are yours! And your dog is as most dogs; always looking for food! Have a nice day and week in your part of the world!

Great photos. You have a big market. Did you take your dog along as a taster? I think he would like some goodies over there.

I love the markets in Europe and this market looks like a great one!

Today, your world looks like mine, Maria. The flea market stalls are similar to ours, even the products !
What I prefer is the veggies and fruit market. So colored. Shopkeepers seem to be the same wherever we are. Except for the language.
I wonder how your dog can stay breathing in front of the spices stall like he does !
Nice world to share.

Wonderful photos. What kind of tubular root is D'Ora sniffing? Walking through a market is always invigorating.

Hallo Maria !

Andreas
