Vienna after the big Silvester party!

650.000 came to celebrate the New Year in Vienna!
They followed the "Silvesterpath"
leading from St. Stephen's Square to the Riesenrad,
with lots of music, dancing, eating and drinking,
and , of course, fireworks everywhere.
When all the broken glasses and firecrackers had been removed from the streets,
the visitors returned next day to carry on with celebrating the New Year :)

Where Stephansplatz meets Graben,
thousands danced a midnight waltz!

Glad you only shoot the beautiful thing! LOL

It would be too unpleasant a view of Stephensplatz and Graben at 5 o'clock in the morning covered with broken gass up to your ancles...

It sounds like a great big party! When I was young I celebrated Silvester Abend twice in Berwang! There was not much broken glass then. It was so beautiful with all the snow!

Hello Maria :)

GREETINGS!

The amazing enthusiasm of the Vienese people to come together in such large numbers in the biting cold and celebrate with such gay abandon should have been a great spectacle to behold and a memory to treasure.

I am sure you thoroughly enjoyed youself.

Many thanks for giving us a glimpse of the celebrations and the lovely decorations for us to envy and enjoy.

I have already turned green for sure :)

I take this opportunity to wish you and your husband a wonderful new year filled with peace, happiness, health and prosperity.

My hugs to your lovely dog for entertaining me throughout the
last year and I am sure he will come up with more antics in the new year.

Three cheers :)
