SWF - Overdose :)

After sunset,

the pale moon rises,

the night blue sky gets deeper,

still deeper,

and a delicate black cat watches ...
the full moon rising :)

Witnessed, photographed and described
by the "Vienna Skywatchers"
this evening, 7 May 2009, in Vienna's 10th district "Laaerberg".

Happy Sky Watch Friday everywhere!

Sky Watch Friday - Burning sunset

I'm so glad the days are getting longer!

Skywalkers and kitesurfers!

My friend Brigitte and I (the "Vienna Skywalkers" :)
took an evening walk along the Danube some days ago.

The sky was painted orange,

and when we crossed the Danube, it looked unreal as if on fire

as after a giant explosion!

Happy Sky Watch Friday!

Evening walk along the river Danube

Above: Skilful crane driver in his cabine :)))

My friend Brigitte and I took an evening walk along the river Danube today,
starting at Donaukraftwerk Freudenauand walking along the Southern bank of the Danube to Praterbrücke,
passing by Vienna's container harbour,
and a crane driver showing off with his skills on the huge machine when he saw two ladies walking by (together at least 100 years on four legs plus a 5 year old dog:)))
which made us smile a lot, very refreshing, hehehe :)))
and with the white swans escorting us!

And these tulips are my hubby's birthday flowers and I think they were grown in Holland,
or maybe in Skagit Valley where my friend MaryBeth lives?
Well, will we ever know ????

Sky Watch Friday

ALONG THE DANUBE NEAR VIENNA

Last Sunday,
my friend Brigitte and I took a walk trough the wetlands along the Danube near Vienna,
crossed the river at a hydropower plant, watched the cormorants, and passed by backwaters where the sun slowly set under a winter sky.

Vienny by night

My friend Brigitte and me walked along the Danube yesterday evening.
As we usually meet after work, it was already completely dark
and Vienna's city lights glittered in the water of the Danube.

The air was so clear that I could take the photos without a tripod!
