The small mountain Peilstein 716 m/2.350 feet high, with its breath-taking vertical cliffs, is a climber's paradise 40 km/22 miles southwest of Vienna, sourrounded by the soft rolling hills of the Vienna Woods.
In autumn, the bright colours of the beeches and the dark green pine trees make a nice contrast with the white limestone rocks.

Awesome photos, I really love the first two. What a wodnerful scene.
Hi Maria!
oh, it seems to be difficult to climb this mountain?!
I took many pictures of changing leaves on Sunday.
I visited my parents-in-law.
I'm a little bit tired but I enjoyed seeing changing leaves!
Oh my--those shots are beautiful. I love the tough alpine trees. Such beautiful views.
Love the D'Ora and friends pics too. MB
Very nice photos of Peilstein. Thanks for showing them. I would love to climb that!

Hello Maria,
What a beautiful blog and outstanding photographs. Those mountains scenes are stunning!
Absolutely stunning! It's worth the climb to see that view. But wait!...You did it for me. :)
Actually, I would like to climb up to see the view for myself.
OMG this pictures are spectacular!! Thanks for sharing.
Scenic Sunday
ah, wunderschoen! Ich war heute in Wien - naja, ein bisschen Regen, ein bisschen Nebel, aber am 12 Uhr so viele Sonne, wie in Fruehling!
Look at those views, absolutely spectacular! My goodness, it can't get much better than that
Breathtaking view. I would like to see it but not from the side of those cliffs. Yikes, even with a rope I would get dizzy and would be like a pertrified kat on a cliff side.
Dora and her friend were cuties. My Maggie's nose is getting better but it has been a lesson in patiences for both of us.
Peace
Breathtaking captures, Maria! Love the colors in the first one! What a marvelous place to visit and enjoy the changing seasons!
Have a great week!
Sylvia

Gracious, those scenes look like they were taken in the old days of Middle Earth! Absolutely LOVE them!
