Let's take a little lessen in global geography:
(please click at the pictures for a larger view!)
This is
sometimes also "Australia" or "OZ" :-)

located in the Northern hemisphere of the Blue Planet
in the middle of Europe
a very green area along the Danube and the Alps,
between its neighbours
Germany, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Italy, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein
(Vienna city map, linked with the interactive Google map)
with its capital Vienna (Wien)
inhabited by 2 millions
and a great panoramic view from Kahlenberg
(where we strolled down the hills last week)
C L I C K !
(unfortunately not my picture )
and a city centre called the 1st District, Innenstadt,
with St. Stephen's cathedral
Stephansdom
BINGO!
This is where I live
and where I go photohunting like a tourist
before posting my prey
:-)
No kangaroos in Austria and nothing Swiss about Swiss cheese
(Click on the image for more related info!)
And:
Last but not least, a big sensation:
THERE A R E KANGAROOS
IN
AUSTRIA !

This is the
Parma-Känguru
Parma wallaby, Macropus parma,
and it is a regular resident of the Vienna Zoo!
Please check the Vienna Zoo's Animal List here as a proof!
It is a tiny, shy and cryptic creature of the wet sclerophyll forests of southern New South Wales, until 1967 believed to be extinct, then spotted again near
Gosford, New South Wales,
Australia!
(Wikipedia)
So what ya say now!? Ha?
Hi Maria! I've been in Wien many years ago and I have to say I feel in love in that place! I hope to visit again:)

ReplyDeleteVery clever way to present your world. Thank you for visiting mine.
ReplyDeleteWonderful sense of humour, Maria. Love all the photos and information on Vienna.
ReplyDeleteWhat a complete post, Maria. You're right protect your Culture and particularities. 'Render to Mozart the things which are Mozart's...'
ReplyDeleteReassure me Mozartkugeln, these little delights, are Austrian, yes? (Here, in Paris we get an Austrian patisserie which is called "Stübli" dose it mean something?)
And Sissi?
and Marie Antoinette? (see, in every country, History can make one feels guilty)
And really, I've seen the sound of music when I was a little girl, I don't remind any references to Nazi?! Maybe I was too young to understand! But people can be relieved, who remind that movie in the new generation. Even if a DVD is created, who would buy it?
Very nice post. I can't stop talking about it. And I haven't talk about my Swiss cousins! Emmental! It's FRENCH! We also product it.
