Today's flowers

One of the last fragile flowers before the cold season sets in.

This is apparently a Gaura lindheimeri (Prachtkerze).
Vienna's Stadtgartenamt (MA12, a department of the city administration) planted them this year on all the public flower beds in town.

Thank you Digital Flower Pictures for your hint!

  2. A lovely and delicate flower! One can only wonder how they survive!

In Oslo: no more fresh flowers, they all went when the first snow came of friday. The snow is gone now, it is raining cats and dogs! I long for the snow to stay now, it is so dark outside!

    Have a nice week Maria!

  3. It is always fun to see what is going to last in the garden. Sometimes there are some surprises. Gaura flowers are pretty tough. We grew the pink one this year and it was great.

  4. It's beautiful, durable, and courageous. What a survivor. We're at 10 degrees F (-12 C?) this morning. Your cold weather must be coming soon.

  8. They look so delicate. One usually thinks of a bigger stronger looking flower when planting city landscapes.
    Lovely shot!

  9. Vienna must have been spectacular if they planted the big bushy ones. They look like drifts of snow when in full bloom. Nice shot of the late flower Maria.
