    Maria, I love the oldfashioned Columbines. I have both pink and purple in my mountain garden, they have been seeding themselves there and surviving since the 1850s!

    Yes, we call them columbine and there are so many splendid varieties.
    Yesterday I saw quite an unusual red and yellow one.

    Maria, I meant old fashioned as distinct from the present cultivars which have lost som of the charm of these 'Grandma's bonnets'.

    So beautiful! I have been a bit confused about the name of this flower! Some are garden flowers - others grow wild! But you use a name I am used to in Norway! And they are so pretty!

    I love the Columbine too. I have several and they always come back. I try to sprinkle the seeds around.

    Beautiful - love the purplish blue shades. They're also known as 'granny's bonnets' in the UK.
